Method 1. Set CPU Priority to prefer foreground apps through Control Panel

Step 1. Add “This PC” Icon to the desktop

Step 2. Do right click on “This PC” icon

Step 1. In the “Type here to search” box type regedit and press enter to open the Registry Editor.

Step 3. Change Value data of Win32PrioritySeparation to set CPU priority to prefer foreground apps.

Step 4. Double click on the Win32PrioritySeperation field, where Value data is 2. If you wish to improve the performance of the foregrounds apps, then just set the Value data to 26. If you set Value data to18 then the performance of background applications will be improved. It’s all up to your requirements, how you want to do this.
